Überblick
This scenario takes about half a day to complete. In the first step, the apprentices are asked to be filmed performing a role-play in groups, simulating a professional procedure/situation (e.g. consultation with a client) they prepared. Then, the teacher gives a lecture about how to handle the procedure (e.g. how to manage a consultation with a client). During this lecture, the teacher shows a video demonstrating how a professional would manage the procedure/situation. In the next lesson, apprentices have to watch two videos and identify errors using a video annotation tool. Afterwards, apprentices are asked to reflect on the previous activities and write down the entire correct procedure using a provided table.
Finally, apprentices have to reenact the roleplay, using a more complex script.
Beschreibung des Lehransatzes
This scenario is based on the principle of learning from errors. Identification of errors, with feedback and error analysis/reflection, allows productive learning from errors. Students should identify and analyze their own errors, or peers’ errors, after being given a lecture about the right way to handle a procedure.
This scenario also suggests performing a roleplay once at the start of the activity and once at the end. This second roleplay allows students to practice and verify what they’ve learned from the first roleplay and from the teacher’s lessons. This helps students elaborate their knowledge and transfer it from the errors and theory to new actions.
Finally, this scenario also uses a writing-to-learn approach. Learning, knowledge building, and knowledge acquisition are enhanced by the act of writing.

Ivideo.education
This scenario was done using Ivideo.education. This video editing and annotation website allows one to add resources, chapters, hotspots, links and multiple other contents to videos. It also allows users to add personal notes and public comments to videos, and to export all notes and comments into a PDF file.
Youtube
You can upload your videos on Youtube. Set your video as unlisted for it to be not publicly visible, but still accessible with the video hyperlink.
You can add chapters in the videos by adding the timestamps in the video description. See this tutorial for more information.
Tipps und Tricks
This scenario is best suited for teaching about social situation procedures, such as how to handle client requests for commercial employees or patient interactions for medical vocational contexts. But this scenario could be adapted to any procedure which can be simulated through a roleplay or a simulated practice.
For learning by errors to be efficient, prompts must be provided to guide learners into the analysis tasks.
Don’t forget to take breaks between each lesson.
